Introducing Batches for Bulk Processing
What a Batch Means
A batch is a simple label for one bulk processing workflow. When you start a bulk run, FreeOCR.AI creates a batch and saves every result from that run under the same batch name.
This does not change how each image is processed. OCR, table extraction, and data extraction still handle every file as its own task. The batch just keeps those related tasks together in History, which is especially helpful after processing a folder or a long list of screenshots.
Name It Before You Start
Each bulk page now includes a Batch name field. We fill it with the current date and time by default, but you can rename it before the first Start.
Once the batch has been created, the name is locked for that page session. Additional pending files and retries stay in the same batch, so one real-world job does not get split into several unrelated History groups.
Use a meaningful name
For example, Invoice archive - August, Lecture notes set 3, or Receipts for tax review.
Start processing
All pending files in that bulk queue are attached to the same batch.
Keep working if needed
If you add more files before leaving the page, or retry failed files, they continue under the same batch.
Find the Results Later
When a bulk run finishes, the View Results action opens the matching History page with that batch already selected. You see the results from the run you just completed instead of searching through older files.
If you come back later, open the relevant History page and use Select batch to filter by the saved batch name. The list shows your newest batches first and loads more as you scroll, so recent work is quick to recover.
Where It Works
A Small Workflow Change That Saves Search Time
The goal is not to add project management on top of OCR. It is to make bulk processing easier to trust: upload many files, process them, then return to that exact group when you need to review, copy, export, or retry results.
If you refresh or leave the bulk page, your next bulk workflow starts as a new batch. That keeps each work session clean while still making the latest results easy to find from History.
Try batches in your next bulk run
Start from any bulk processing page, name the batch, and use History to return to the exact results later.
